gravity always wins

I have arrived safely in Geneva!

So, its hard to know what qualifies as 'first things first', but I suppose I will start by explaining just what the heck I am doing in Switzerland anyways.

My school/program offers to graduating and third year multimedia students a few international internships (in Geneva). I heard about the internship and decided to apply. Although I don't know precise details about the job, my official position is "Webmaster and Communication Assistant" for the Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance (google them). Essentially I will be 'hammering out the details' of a new website that is being built and will also be working on a variety of different multimedia projects. The internship lasts thirteen months.

This morning at approximately 330 am (toronto time) or 930 am (geneva time) I arrived in Switzerland. And minus temporary set backs (delayed luggage which I still don't have, delayed planes, the inability to check into my room), I couldn't be more estactic. I've been here only a few hours (some of which I spent sleeping) but from what I have seen (and heard) so far, Geneva certainly appears to be a gorgeous and interesting city! The others here (Mike and Natalie who helped me get settled, as well as their friends who let me sleep in their spare room) have been supper hospitable and a great help in introducing me to the city. Tomorrow I intend to 'get lost' and travel around Geneva - apparently its pretty small and easy to figure out, so I look forward to it.

(bonus points for anyone who knows where todays entry title comes from)
